I’ve been in hiding lately. Been recording non-stop since March, I needed a little break. My ears were starting to feel very fatigued and my health was poor.
I’m almost ready to get back to work. I’m coming up with so many new ideas and projects at the moment. I feel freshly inspired.
Here is an update:
The new King Woman release will probably be out around early February. We are putting it out through, in my opinion, one of the greatest labels in the world. It’s a full band release and I am beyond excited about it. I have a great band who I love very much. I can’t wait to start playing shows again!
People asking about releases, this is all I have right now:
I’m still working on my Miserable full-length and my good friend Evan (Grey Zine, Past Life) flew out from Brooklyn to be involved with that. I am recording with the coolest bad boi: MAX SENNA.
This release is possibly the saddest music I have ever written and I can’t lie, it fucked me up very badly. After this I think I am going to go in more of an upbeat direction as far as Miserable is concerned. Doing two projects that are both so heavy and sad is just too much for my soul and I need a balance.
This full-length will be released through The Native Sound.
I love The Native Sound and Julio has been a pleasure to work with. He is one of the first people who ever believed in me and I really admire and respect him. We are almost out of copies of Halloween Dream so if you still want it before we do a 2nd press:
My old split with Grey Zine:
I met the love of my life when I went on tour in June, his name is Charles. We are posted up in West Oakland just having a good time. Got a new job. Getting ready for the King Woman release and a bunch of other cool stuff.
Things to clear up:
As far as all of the questions about Whirr, their new release, Pitchfork, why I left the band, how I feel about Whirr:
I think their new album is fantastic. I wish them well and have nothing else to say about the matter. So, unless you wish to be very annoying, please stop sending me mail asking me questions about things that are really none of your business. Thanks.
Also, creeps who stalk me online and send me weird mail: there is this little thing called Statcounter, look it up. Pay attention to your own life and stop wasting it observing, obsessing, or hating someone else and their life. What a sad and shitty way to live.
All of that being said:
Thanks for paying attention, sending sweet mail, encouraging me, and all of that. I’m in a constant battle with doubt and discouragement so it means a lot to me.
I’m looking to collaborate in various areas. I wan to start producing albums for musicians who need some help because I just love doing it.
I also need to find someone to design some stage clothing for King Woman. I want to collaborate with many artists, musicians, and photographers. Don’t be afraid to get in touch. Our connection is why I do this thing in the first place.
Thanks: Emma, Sam, Holly, Pat, Colin, Sky, Joey, MJ, Olivia, Charles, James & Lauren, Amanda, Lily, Jamie, Stefania, Pascal, Evan, Gabi, Jonathan & Nicole, Iphi, Gabby, Thom, Laura & Matt, Jeff, Brad, Jess, Mar, Nick, Jessie, Kristin, Casey, Julio, Kelly, Miles, George, Taka, Emily, Kieran, BG, LCM, all of my sweet friends and fans.
A lot has happened in this past year and in some way you’ve helped me along or were involved with one of my projects. I love you all!!!!
If you want to support what I do with some $$$, all of the money from my Dog Days Bandcamp goes to me:
If you want a copy of the release, order it through Sad Girls Club. Emma is such an incredible person and I have nothing but love for anything she is involved with, support and represent!
Very last but not least, I am VERY excited about the next Foie Gras release! I am so excited to be involved with it and her music is just spectacular and, and, and… JUST WAIT AND SEE! <3
